What you will do:
We are looking for two motivated, forward-thinking Tourism Development Officers to join our team. If you excel in business development, community engagement, and fostering collaborations, we want to hear from you! In this role, you'll work closely with stakeholders and funding partners to identify and implement projects that spark tourism growth and enhance local communities.
Reporting to the Director of Tourism Development, the successful candidate(s) will be a key part of the Tourism Development team and be responsible for:
- Developing and executing strategies to achieve sustainable tourism growth
- Building and strengthening partnerships with tourism operators, industry organizations, and community leaders
- Guiding and mentoring current and potential tourism entrepreneurs in product development
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities to collaborate with funding partners on strategic tourism initiatives
- Identifying and supporting innovative tourism products, services, or experiences to attract visitors and boost local businesses
- Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the success of tourism projects and programs
- Collaborating across government departments to advance Tourism Development Branch objectives
- Performing additional related duties as needed

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Required Competencies:
- A University degree in Business/Public Administration, Social Sciences, Hospitality and Tourism, or a related field or a two-year college diploma
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience is required for candidates with a bachelor's degree, or a minimum of seven (7) years for those with a diploma. Experience should be in the following areas:
- Program delivery
- Business, community development, and engagement
- Stakeholder collaboration and project management
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Some positions require written and spoken competence in French and English. Others will require written and spoken competence in English or in French only. Please state your language capability.

Wage:
2,536.00 to $3,542.00 bi-weekly (Pay Band 5)
Work environment:
- Office location: Marysville Place, Fredericton
- Office layout: Open-concept workspace
- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15 am - 4:30 pm
- Work flexibility outside of normal hours and travel throughout the province may be required
