Internship Placement for Fall 2025 Term

Salary: $17.50/hour

Hours per week: Flexible (around 20 hours)

Placement Duration: September – December 2025

Department: Post Secondary Education Training and Labor (PETL)

Placement Description: The main responsibility of this role includes greeting and assisting clients seeking services across four different departments. The successful candidate will become familiar with the functions of all departments to provide appropriate support. Key duties include performing data entry to assist employment counsellors and workforce consultants with contract management and processing. The role also involves assisting with financial tasks, such as invoice processing, and handling interactions with challenging clients in a professional and courteous manner. Additional responsibilities include processing and delivering mail, as well as coordinating meeting logistics such as booking locations, arranging food, and setting up computer equipment. The candidate will also be responsible for ordering and managing office supplies, taking detailed notes during meetings, and responding to general inquiries via phone and email.

This role offers an opportunity for skills development and hands-on experience.

Need to have:

• Language requirement: Bilingual
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (e.g., Business Administration, Office Administration, or related field)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality

Nice to have:

• Experience in record-keeping and/or customer service
• General volunteerism or community involvement
