Internship Placement for Fall 2025 Term

Number of placements: 2

Salary: $17.50/hour

Hours per week: Flexible (around 20 hours)

Placement Duration: September – December 2025

Department: Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD)

Placement Description: The French Second Language (FSL) Education Student Intern will play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of FSL programming. The role involves supporting the creation of pedagogical resources and assisting with various administrative tasks related to FSL programming. Depending on project needs, responsibilities may include reviewing curriculum companion documents to identify opportunities for creating Micro Professional Learning (Micro PL) videos and developing these videos using PowToon in both French and English to synthesize and enhance the content. The intern could also produce a series of Micro PL videos highlighting Better Practices, and create bilingual podcasts, one-pagers, and quick-start guides based on the Companion Documents. Additionally, the intern could collaborate with a Learning Specialist to design storyboards and coordinate materials for educator professional development videos, as well as contribute to the development of "La Ligue phonique", a phonics-based initiative.

This role offers an opportunity for skills development and hands-on experience.

Need to have:

  • Language requirement: Bilingual
  • The candidate must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively
  • Comfortable using basic computer software, including word processing and spreadsheet programs

Nice to have: Familiar with Office 365, especially Word, Teams, Forms, and Excel. comfortable with new technologies and interested in AI-assisted video and podcast creation. Experience or interest in filmmaking or video design, such as storyboarding, is an asset. A strong interest in French language and culture, particularly in promoting them to non-Francophones, is important. An interest in language development or education is also valued.
