The Role

As the Director of Growth Marketing, you will lead the digital marketing acquisition strategy and will be responsible for end-to-end execution of all Scotiabank digital paid media initiatives. Exercising strong leadership, you will manage a large organization supporting multiple business lines to deliver growth, through an always on performance driven approach

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Oversee the strategic planning, execution and ongoing optimization of Scotiabank's paid media program and plans, as well as building and managing internal roadmaps for associated ad tech, including but not limited to programmatic display, paid social, paid search, online video and affiliate channels
  • Accountable for monthly, quarterly and annual paid media budgets and delivery of sales targets, lifetime value and return on marketing investment, across multiple lines of business
  • Lead, guide, rally and inspire a team of highly skilled digital marketing practitioners across multiple digital marketing areas of practice
  • Manage strategic 3rd party partner relationships ensuring there is program goal alignment, communication of quarterly budgets and a commitment from the provider side to keep Scotiabank top of mind for Alpha/Beta and new feature launches
  • Collaborate with the business and internal marketing teams ensuring there is alignment of strategy, performance KPIs, messaging and initiative focus
  • Close collaboration with marketing analytics & Marketing Performance management to identify and propagate performance/demand trends, high value audiences, optimization opportunities and key business drivers inclusive of full funnel measurement and multitouch attribution methodologies
  • Act as an expert for SEO/SEM strategies in collaboration with our strategic partners to drive marketing efficiency
  • Serve as a core contributor to the Bank's long term MarTech strategy
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop the customer acquisition strategy and create road maps that will enable each business line the ability to achieve their annual business objectives
  • Expand the visibility and working knowledge of digital marketing across the organization through presenting and communicating best practices, core findings and emphasizing the channel importance in the overall marketing mix

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have the following:

  • 7+ years performance media, digital acquisition marketing experience, including planning, buying, trafficking, analyzing, optimizing; with financial services and / or direct to consumer experience an asset
  • Proven experience driving leads, sales and other key web metrics through the online channel
  • Established track record in managing complex cross-channel paid digital media campaigns within the following channels: programmatic display/video, paid social, paid search, and affiliate
  • Expert experience with digital acquisition, performance best practices and technology trends
  • Experience with ad tech and analytics platforms including or similar to: Campaign Manager, SA360, DV360, Facebook Ads, Adobe Ad Cloud, Amazon DSP
  • Working knowledge of a DMP and how to leverage audiences in the paid media space
  • Seeker of innovations, trends and technology for future digital infrastructure
  • Data proficiency to proactively pursue and harness insights that drive performance optimization
  • Strong leadership behaviors coupled with the technical skill set to drive the business toward success
  • Ability to coach and train team members to improve growth marketing performance and skillset
  • Proven interpersonal and relationship management skills with a strong ability to manage, influence and leverage a multitude of stakeholders
  • A "can do" mentality – demonstrating a real passion for making things happen and for achieving stretch targets


Working Conditions

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Position is to be based in Toronto. Occasional international traveling is required.
