Position Purpose:

The Manager, Core Store Operations will drive the strategic direction of Store Operations through a team of direct reports. Using high-level strategic thinking, the incumbent will identify multi-faceted issues, understand their fundamental parts, and communicate them to the project team. This role is responsible for managing, improving, developing, and implementing core store processes and projects across the Canadian Division to add shareholder value and create a competitive advantage. The incumbent will contribute to the bottom line by creating strategic plans, driving business initiatives, and managing multiple projects and processes in all Store Core Operational areas. This role will partner with executive and senior leadership, Regional Directors of Operations, District Managers, and regional, district, and field leadership teams.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead large cross-functional projects within Core Store Operations to enhance the bottom line and improve the customer service experience.
  • Ensure operational consistency and execution across all stores.
  • Manage direct reports in the Core Store Operations function to ensure the successful execution of strategic projects and process improvements.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of new and existing Inbound Freight/Reverse Logistics, Product Availability, and Inventory Control programs. Monitor and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Set goals, define direction, and establish action steps for short- and long-term success in processes and projects. Identify areas of concern, present solutions, and follow up with the Senior Manager, Canadian Operations to address issues promptly.
  • Develop and maintain project work plans, manage issues and roadblocks, and provide expert guidance to team members.
  • Collaborate with Regional Directors of Operations, District Managers, District Operational Managers, senior management, Operations teams, and other critical functional areas.
  • Lead and coordinate change management efforts by communicating change initiatives and facilitating system enhancements, implementations, and process improvements.
  • Re-engineer in-store Backend processes, conduct compliance reviews, develop strategies for product rollouts and growth penetration, and collaborate with field management to ensure execution.
  • Provide strategic direction and insights to direct reports (Process Owners).
  • Manage all Core Store Operations projects using clear metrics, training, and implementation timelines (e.g., Playbooks, guides, programs).
  • Deliver insights and recommendations based on industry, competitive, and consumer data analysis.
  • Recruit, lead, and motivate a team of direct reports.
  • Partner with U.S. counterparts on new operational initiatives, store desktop/mobile applications, and Associate Tools.
  • Collaborate with the Asset Protection team to address areas of risk.
  • Work with Divisional Learning Managers to create training programs supporting Backend processes.
  • Travel may be required for this role.
