With the planned retirement of a long-serving and highly respected executive, Port Saint John is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Chief Operating Officer (COO) to help lead the next phase of its growth and transformation. Reporting to the President & CEO and serving as a key member of the executive team, the COO will lead all operational and administrative functions of the Port, including marine terminal operations, infrastructure, security, health and safety, finance, human resources, legal, and compliance.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate is a strategic and pragmatic operational leader with experience in ports, logistics, infrastructure, transportation, or another asset-intensive, safety-critical sector. You bring a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams, managing complex operations and capital projects, and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders-including government partners, labour organizations, private sector operators, and Indigenous communities. You are financially and technologically literate, a strong and inclusive people leader, and committed to excellence in operational performance, sustainability, and community engagement.
