Job Summary
The Staffing Specialist in Medical Services manages the recruitment cycle related to physicians within designated and assigned zones. This position is responsible in supporting and coordinating physician recruitment and locum needs and works closely with the Credentialing Coordinator to ensure physicians are credentialed and privileged within zones prior to the physicians' start date and assists successful candidates with the onboarding process. The Recruitment Specialist assists other members of the Medical Services team with the Salaried Physician Approval Committee process required by the DHCS and with full-time physician recruitment and locum needs by preparing and posting job advertisements online and in print media, drafting offer letters, appointments and position descriptions, and other duties as assigned. The Staffing specialist will also be required to collect and manage physician data to support the strategic initiatives of the department.

This position reports to the Director of Medical Services.

Job Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Commerce with a concentration in Human Resource Management is required.

Experience
Human Resources experience is required, preferably in recruitment/selection.
Experience in the interpretation & administration of collective agreements and non-union policies is required.
Experience in medical services is considered an asset.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Knowledge of employment legislation/Human Rights, recruitment, interview and selection best practices.
Knowledge and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications and Human Resources Information Systems.
Knowledge of Physician recruitment.
Knowledge and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications and Human Resources Information Systems.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully within a team environment.
Demonstrated excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated superior organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage high volumes of work with multiple and competing priorities/deadlines while attending to numerous details in a high stress environment.
Demonstrated a strong critical thinker who is creative and innovative in problem solving and decision making.
Ability to provide an enthusiastic and positive approach to providing excellent customer service within a team environment.
Ability to develop collaborative relationships and interface effectively with a variety of employee groups at all levels of the organization.
