The Senior Manager, Grant Services manages, advises and supports the Grant Services team on the development of new grant programs and provision of advisory services to service lines engaged in granting work. They will also play a significant role in managing and advancing the review of existing and development of new granting methodology, processes and tools.
In this role, you will :
- Manage the Grant Services team in the design and development of granting methodology, leading to standardized practices and a catalogue of program tools, templates, and orientation materials in support of Granting's overall objectives and CRC standards.
- Establishes the planning process for the Granting Services team including operational planning and quarterly updates and reporting.
- Provides project management leadership and oversight on the development of new granting programs in collaboration with other services lines and support services, as needed.
- Ensures compliance and quality assurance/continuous learning across all granting programs, and ensures that quality standards are incorporated into grant programs.
- Produces materials and delivers orientation, training, and capacity-building activities to support operationalization of granting initiatives by service lines.
- Provides tailored support and advisory services to other service lines related to Granting, in line with CRC standards.
- Ensures consideration for priority cross-cutting issues, such as reconciliation, cultural safety, gender, diversity, inclusion, environment, disaster risk reduction, in directives and implementation approaches.
- Works with the Granting team to collaborate on strategies to identify, manage and mitigate against organizational risk relating to grant programs and makes recommendations to the Director, Granting.
- Support implementation of all People Services policies and practices, ensuring opportunities are created for professional development, recognizing, and celebrating successes, and cultivating a culture of teamwork, collaboration and innovation across all levels and functions of the organization.
What we are looking for :
- University degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution.
- Minimum of 6 to 9 years working in grant management, program management, community development, Human Services or Social Sciences.
- Experience in leading and managing cross-functional, diverse teams with the ability to resolve conflicts and inspire, motivate and engage teams to achieve objectives.
- Strong experience in program design and development, including PMER, and Results Based Management (RBM).
- Knowledge of legal frameworks and principles for granting in Canada.
- Experience working with and presenting to community organizations, municipal government bodies and Indigenous organizations and governments.
- Understanding of disaster response and recovery.
- Strong communication and analytical skills with an ability to influence leaders and peers to gain support with data and persuasion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, experience with grant management software is an asset.
- Fluency in English is required, French is an asset.
Working Conditions :
- Work will be conducted in an office like setting.
- May require travel to safe locations; limited exposure to adverse conditions.
- Work requires the ability to work to deadlines.
- Work requires interactions with dissatisfied partners and the resolution of complex partner issues.
- In a large-scale emergency, where staff numbers are compromised or additional resources are required, provide disaster relief and or emergency field operational support.
- All CRC roles are required to adapt work and priorities to support emergency response efforts, be present in person as required to support service delivery and deploy to emergency responses when appropriate and/or required (personnel availability and request for exemptions will be discussed with line management).
