Job Information and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Director, Admission and Transfer Assessment, the Admission Officer will:

  • Evaluate student applications and documents for undergraduate admissions, both domestic and international. Determine admission decisions for all applicants, including high school students, seconddegree candidates, and former students, with a particular focus on international admissions.
  • Evaluate supplemental documents to ensure students have correct, accurate, and legible transcripts, letter of permissions, etc.
  • Check applications for errors and contacts the student applicants regarding required additional or missing information.
  • Conduct admission interviews both on campus in person and online with prospective students and/or their parents/guardians.
  • Offers personalized upgrading guidance to eligible applicants, helping them meet admission requirements. .
  • Support and assist in the evaluation and awarding of transfer credit.

Experience and Education Requirements

To be the successful Admissions Officer you will have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Arts, Science or Commerce.
  • Demonstrated experience in decision making
  • Minimum one (1) to two (2) years directly related experience in a post-secondary education environment, preferably admissions.
  • Experience accessing transcripts both domestic and international would be considered an asset.
  • Experience using Ellucian Banner and CRM Recruit would be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suite; Banner CRM Recruit experience would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and achieve goals in a high paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Cross-cultural working experience.
  • Ability to work virtually.
