The Operations Representative contributes to the overall success of the Account Maintenance Financial Team ensuring specific individual goals, plans & initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. They will also ensure all activities conducted, are compliant with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Provide Front-line field communications on iTRADE Accounts by investigating, resolving & responding to phone calls, emails & written correspondence on inquiries on banking activities for account types
  • Review, process and approve various banking related requests including special withdrawals, transfers & transactions
  • Analyze & resolve problem items and propose the best solution
  • Act on corrections as agreed to by the field and when required, raise issues/proposed solutions to Management
  • Provide administration of Registered Products activities for all Business Line (iTRADE, Scotia McLeod, and Scotia Trust)
  • Provide support to interdepartmental staff as required
  • Participate in various projects for iTRADE and Registered Products
  • Participate in sundry duties as assigned

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Post Secondary Education
  • Business education and/or investment industry experience
  • Canadian Securities Course is considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Reconciliation experience is an asset
  • Familiarity with various banking products (EFT, PAC, FX, etc)
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and projects
  • The ability to be a self-starter, are independent task oriented with the ability to work with minimum supervision with guidance from senior management
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and strong interpersonal skills
  • A focus on accuracy & thoroughness and are organized
  • Analytical thinking skills to break down problems
  • A focus on customer service including correcting problems accurately
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • A focus on efficiency
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment
