Horizon Health Network in beautiful New Brunswick is looking for a SOAR Research Methodologist to join our team!

Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, adaptable, individual to join our team as a SOAR Research Methodologist. The ideal candidate will have experience developing sound research questions, assisting with protocol development for quantitative research studies, assisting with Research Ethics Board submissions, analysis of study data and supporting the knowledge mobilization of research findings.

Who you are

You have a worked in a research environment for a minimum of 5 years and a Master's degree in a health-related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. A PhD would be considered an asset. You have experience in designing, implementing, and managing research projects with quantitative research designs and their accompanying techniques for data analysis. You have excellent organizational and time management skills, while also maintaining effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. You have a high proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications and statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SPSS, SAS, Stata). You are familiar with Canadian regulatory guidelines governing research (e.g., Tri-Council Policy Statement, Good Clinical Practices, etc.).

Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level.

What you will do

  • Work as a member of the Support Opportunities and Assistance for Research (SOAR) team. The SOAR team work with Horizon-affiliated clinicians or staff who are awarded team support for their various research project ideas. The SOAR team help to develop the research ideas into projects, seeing them through the full research project lifecycle.
  • Consult with clinician and staff researchers in the development and, implementation, of investigator-initiated research studies, including the development of research protocols, data management, and study management plans using quantitative designs.
  • Provide research study expertise and act as a resource person for Horizon clinicians and staff conducting research.
  • Support researchers with the analysis of study data for quantitative research studies.
  • Assess the feasibility of projects with respect to available resources and timelines.
  • Work on multiple research projects concurrently, establish project timelines, and track multiple deliverables.
  • Develop and manage collaborative relationships with clinician and staff researchers.
  • Aid with the ethics and institutional approval submissions of research projects through Horizon's Human Research Protection Program.
  • Identify appropriate knowledge mobilization activities for supported research projects.
  • Support the writing of peer-reviewed scientific articles and the dissemination of research findings through conference presentations.
  • Collaborate with clinician researchers to prepare written abstracts, manuscripts, and funding applications.
