In this role you will:

  • Implement new case management programs and ensure operational workforce has training and tools needed to provide timely and appropriate assistance to impacted households and individuals.
  • Establish Case Management services and programs as needed and coordinate with operational leadership to manage logistics, space set-up, referral lists, etc.
  • Contribute to and support the transition from relief operations to recovery operations as required.
  • Guide and mentor case management team, providing training and support in case management best practices, adherence to established methodology and tools.
  • Support the development and delivery of training, coaching and mentoring of case management teams.
  • Participate in operational meetings and bring forward feedback, analysis, recommendations and influence continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to operational and service line planning and reporting as required.
  • Contributes to the implementation of compliance, quality assurance, and risk management practices within case management operations.
  • Ensure adherence to established processes and procedures, proactively identifying opportunities for enhancement and escalating systemic challenges as needed.

What we are looking for:

  • Qualifications include a minimum of 3-5 years of experience and a 3-year college diploma or university degree in social services, psychology, human services, social work, community or health studies and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of a holistic approach to community recovery and emergency management practices.
  • Experience handling complex or high-risk cases, including escalations and advocacy for vulnerable populations.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and professionalism in handling issues and confidential information.
  • Ability to influence and support others, and to work collaboratively as part of remote and in-person teams.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Skills to identify, investigate and analyze problems, identify root causes and risks, and apply technical, functional and organizational knowledge to develop solutions.
  • Communication skills, diplomacy and empathy to interpret information and deliver advice, clarify client or stakeholder needs, offer solutions, and resolve escalations in new or sensitive situations.
  • Experience applying community engagement principles, participatory approaches, and culturally safe practices.
  • Ability to integrate best practices and continuous learning opportunities into program delivery.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a response or recovery context is an asset.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and diverse populations is an asset.
  • Valid driver's licence from a Canadian province or territory required.

Working Conditions

  • All teams contribute to emergency response efforts directly or indirectly.
  • All CRC roles are required to adapt work and priorities to support emergency response efforts, be present in person as required to support service delivery and deploy to emergency responses when appropriate and/or required (personnel availability and request for exceptions will be discussed with line management).
  • Will be working primarily in an office environment.
  • This position requires ability to deploy to operations in Canada frequently, as well as occasionally for meetings and training opportunities.
  • In a large-scale emergency, where staff numbers are compromised or additional resources are required provide disaster relief and/or emergency field operational support.
