Department Overview
The Governance Risk & Controls (GRC) team provides management assurance through 1B testing of programs that impact Finance and Treasury Balance Sheet Management. The Financial Reporting Controls (FRC) team performs testing over 1B functions and provides training and reporting to stakeholders on various enterprise-wide financial reporting control policies, guidelines and standards to support the Controller & Chief Accountant.
This team plays an important strategic role for CFO, Chief Accountant and Controller, ensuring that the right metrics are developed and communicated to the businesses to make decisions amid the continuously evolving market environment and regulatory requirements.
Job Description
Overview: The Manager will report to Senior Group Manager and play a critical role in strengthening financial reporting integrity, risk management, and control environments. This position will lead enhancement projects focused on automation, process efficiency, and control optimization. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in internal/external audit, 1B, financial reporting, and risk/control frameworks, with a passion for driving change through data-driven insights.
This is a high-visibility role requiring regular collaboration with senior finance leaders, making exceptional relationship-building and communication skills essential. Long-term career growth opportunities are available for top performers.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead financial control enhancement projects, identifying opportunities to increase automation and improve efficiency.
- Report key metric, and support the dashboard refreshing for General Ledger, Reconciliation and Attestation to senior management on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Design and maintain dynamic dashboards to support business decisions and control monitoring.
- Strengthen the control environment by assessing risks, challenging processes, and implementing improvements.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Risk, and Operations teams to drive change initiatives.
- Prepare and present findings/recommendations to senior stakeholders with clarity and impact.
Core Competencies:
- CPA designation with 5+ years in internal/external audit or financial control roles.
- Experience in 1B functions, financial reporting, risk frameworks (SOX, COSO), and control optimization.
- Understanding of data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and process automation
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for leadership.
- Ownership mindset with a relentless curiosity for improving processes.
Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- Exceptional communication (written/verbal) and presentation skills – able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP), ARCS, PSGL or similar GL systems.
- Track record of driving change through collaboration with finance, audit, and business teams.
- Excellent analytical skills in assessing risk, issues and challenging the status quo
- Skillful communication (written and verbal), negotiation and partnership skills to balance stakeholder input but remain objective to reach the right outcome – ability to stay resilient under pressure.
Educational Requirements:
- CPA required; MBA or additional certifications (CFA, CIA) are assets.
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
