We invite you to join the Parlee Beach Provincial Park!

Who we are:
Join the Parks NB family! You will have the opportunity to work at one of the most beautiful beaches in North America with the warmest salt water in Canada. Parlee Beach also holds international Blue Flag certification. The campground is located on well-developed grounds with over 210 sites.

What you will do:
Reporting to the Park Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, delivering and implementing safe and exciting events and initiatives that will serve to enhance the visitor's experience at Parlee Beach Provincial Park.

The duties and responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and delivering educational programming for school groups with the Guest Experience Coordinator and Park Manager
  • Participating in the planning and delivering of special events such as New Brunswick Day, cultural celebrations, and developing new events and programming
  • Interacting with visitors in the park, beach and campground
  • Responding to public inquiries
  • Developing and fostering regional partnerships with the Park Manager
  • Performing other related tasks as required

Who you are:

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Required Competencies:

  • Student in the current academic year
  • Must be attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall
  • Valid class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Please attach a copy of your driver's license and a current Driver's Abstract (available from Service New Brunswick) with your application.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.

Nice to have:

  • Experience or course work in tourism, recreation, resource management, public relations, and/or education
  • General knowledge and experience in the outdoors, whether through camping, gardening, bird watching, academic interest, etc.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Ability to interact with and present to a wide variety of audiences
  • Ability to connect with people, to understand a person's needs and adapt teaching methods to that person
  • A valid Emergency First Aid/CPR certification

Wage:
Based on student rates of pay

Work environment:

  • Office location: Parlee Beach Provincial Park
  • Hours of work: 40 hours per week
  • Working flexible hours, including evenings, early mornings, weekends, and holidays
