The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual as Administrative Assistant to join our team for a 12 to 18-month contract. As part of the Port Saint John team, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Chief Operating Officer and departmental Directors of the Business Development & Marine Operations department, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication across the organization.

Responsibilities

Your Focus:

  • Assisting the Chief Operating Officer with scheduling, travel, communications, meeting arrangements and administrative tasks.
  • Assisting departmental Directors with various initiatives.
  • Liaise and communicate with internal and external parties as required.
  • Organize and provide support for trade shows, conferences, etc.
  • Support of departmental budget process throughout the year.
  • Support in the development of presentation materials and organize marketing packages.
  • Support the gathering, accurately inputting, and efficiently disseminating of data to ensure seamless access to critical information for decision-making and operational effectiveness.
  • Participation and support of general Port initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience.
  • College diploma or university degree in a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technology skills and abilities.
  • Able to receive a Transport Canada Marine Security Clearance.
  • Written and spoken knowledge of French considered an asset.
