The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual as Administrative Assistant to join our team for a 12 to 18-month contract. As part of the Port Saint John team, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Chief Operating Officer and departmental Directors of the Business Development & Marine Operations department, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication across the organization.
Your Focus:
- Assisting the Chief Operating Officer with scheduling, travel, communications, meeting arrangements and administrative tasks.
- Assisting departmental Directors with various initiatives.
- Liaise and communicate with internal and external parties as required.
- Organize and provide support for trade shows, conferences, etc.
- Support of departmental budget process throughout the year.
- Support in the development of presentation materials and organize marketing packages.
- Support the gathering, accurately inputting, and efficiently disseminating of data to ensure seamless access to critical information for decision-making and operational effectiveness.
- Participation and support of general Port initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of related experience.
- College diploma or university degree in a related field.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technology skills and abilities.
- Able to receive a Transport Canada Marine Security Clearance.
- Written and spoken knowledge of French considered an asset.
