Responsibilities

What you'll be doing:

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Innovation - Technology Training and Staff Development, your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement strategies for the standardization and life cycle management of the College's technology fleet, including e-sports, simulation technologies, maker-spaces, and emerging technologies.
  • Provide consulting expertise and direction to campus techs, ensuring alignment with educational delivery and student engagement goals.
  • Liaise with pedagogical teams, Student Services, and academic chairs to right-size technology requirements and ensure solutions meet the needs of students and faculty.
  • Identify and address gaps in technology coordination and alignment across the College's campuses.
  • Drive initiatives for technology modernization, sustainability, and emerging tech program alignment.
  • Enhance student engagement through innovative technology solutions, supporting recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of technology implementations, making adjustments as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualifications are a diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
  • The Occupational Experience required is a minimum of 3 years of recent and related experience in emerging technologies used in modern educational settings.
  • Broad understanding of classroom technologies, including IT/AV, e-sports, simulation technologies, maker-spaces, and other emerging technologies.
  • An understanding of the functional components required to deliver an educational experience.
  • Teaching experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead small groups in task work and requirements gathering workshops.
  • Familiarity with computer applications such as the Microsoft 365, E-mail, Teams, Zoom, etc.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders such as instructional designers, faculty, managers, technical team members, and vendors.

  • You understand database theory and concepts.
  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • You are known for your superior customer service skills and can create a relationship of trust beyond the immediate interaction and can work with clients, vendors, and technical team members on resolving and negotiating system issues.
  • Sound ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • You are a resourceful self-starter, that takes the initiative to address challenges.
  • Your superb team working skills enable you to contribute positively to a team environment
  • Broad understanding of modern classroom technologies, e-sports, maker-spaces, and simulation technologies, with the ability to apply this knowledge to enhance educational delivery and student engagement.
  • You possess excellent coordination skills specifically related to coordinating services, work, events, logistics, etc.)
