The Perception, Robotics and Intelligent Machines (PRIME) Lab at Université de Moncton is undertaking a groundbreaking project in the field of AI for Industrial Energy. This initiative aims to leverage advanced algorithms, computer vision, and intelligent robotics to optimize industrial processes. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Professional to join our dynamic team.
- ANNUAL SALARY: $55 000
- START DATE: As soon as possible
- FULL TIME JOB: 35hrs/week
- TEMPORARY POSITION: Until June 1st, 2026, with possibility of renewal

1. Algorithm Development:
- Program advanced algorithms in the areas of AI, computer vision, and intelligent robotics.
- Design and develop advanced algorithms using state-of-the-art approaches and libraries.
2. Hardware Design/Server management:
- Design and integrate sensing hardware using off-the-shelf equipment.
- Manage the AI servers of the Lab.
3. Programming and Implementation:
- Program computer vision and robotics equipment used in the project.
- Collaborate with industrial partners to implement solutions.
4. Project Coordination:
- Plan and coordinate work and tasks in collaboration with the Principal Investigator (PI) to achieve project objectives.
- Collaborate with the PI on technology transfer initiatives and client interactions.
5. Soft Skills:
- Demonstrate project management skills.
- Supervise students and contribute to their development.
- Build and maintain positive client relations.
- Exhibit emotional intelligence and passion for the field.
6. Other Tasks
- Collaborate in the writing of reports, grant applications, research articles, etc.
- Contribute to the organization of activities that promote the visibility of the lab.
- Assist with various tasks related to the lab's needs in connection with research activities, project monitoring, and more.
Qualifications:
- PhD in computer science or related fields (completed or near completion) - Master's in the same fields with extensive hands on experience may be considered.
- Strong educational background in computer programming, algorithmics, source code optimization, and algorithm development.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following areas: deep learning, machine learning, predictive models, computer vision, and intelligent robotic systems (e.g., Unmanned robotics programming).
- Expertise in using popular AI libraries (Tensorflow, Pytorch, Scikit-Learn, OpenCV, ROS 2, etc.), Python and C/C++.
- Experience in code optimization, software development, and utilization of hardware such as robots, cameras, and advanced sensors.
