What you will do?
Buildings Division manages building construction projects such as schools, hospitals, nursing homes, government offices, colleges, and correctional facilities. This position is essential for facilitating construction and renovation of provincial buildings.
Reporting to the Regional Construction Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- managing building construction contracts;
- ensuring compliance with building construction; industry codes, standards, and safety regulations;
- assisting with preparing tender documents;
- coordinating and conducting site inspections and quality control assessments;
- providing technical expertise, guidance, and recommendations for building construction;
- managing budgets and tracking project expenses;
- providing reports on project status and budgets;
- facilitating communication between stakeholder, contractors, consultants, and NBDTI.
Work environment:
- Office location: 440 King Street, Fredericton.
- Open office layout.
- Standard hours of work: Monday – Friday.

Essential Qualifications:
Engineer 3:
- University degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of related experience.
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB).
Engineer 2:
- University degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB).
Engineer 1:
- University degree in Engineering.
- Must be eligible for Engineering in Training designation with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB).
- Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

SALARY:
Engineer 3: $2,904.87 to $3,976.01 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
Engineer 2: $2,718.6 to $3,632.27 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
Engineer 1: $2,327.40 to $2,963.05 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
