Job Description

  • The Senior Group Manager, Finance, reports to the VP, Wealth Finance and leads a team of ?nance professionals. The team provides Finance advisory support for the Wealth Shared Services business. This would include the preparation and analysis of the monthly management reporting, presentation of monthly results to the business operating committee, ad hoc analysis to support business initiatives, preparation of the annual business Plan, quarterly forecasts, business cases, etc.
  • Provide ?nance advisory support to the business, responding to ad hoc requests, contributing a ?nance perspective and constructive challenge on business initiatives and ensuring proper ?nance governance
  • Lead team in completion of the monthly reporting packages and design value-added management reporting to provide insightful interpretation of key business drivers underlying the business results, highlight key issues and make appropriate recommendations where required
  • Act as primary liaison between business leaders and internal Finance partners and external Finance parties
  • Work with business partners to develop the quarterly forecasts /annual business plan, medium-term outlook
  • Provide support to business leaders in developing strategic priorities and defining long-term business objectives, building business cases, advising on corporate development opportunities, identifying expense optimization opportunities and other ad hoc analysis
  • Responsible for assessing the impact of accounting policy changes and ensure the successful implementation of any required changes
  • Develop and manage a team of Finance professionals, including the recruitment of quali?ed resources, providing ongoing training and development opportunities, coaching and performance management activities and the preparation of objective performance reviews
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls and processes with the Finance group; support internal and external audit processes
  • Participate in pan-Wealth & Insurance activities, promote team effectiveness and contribute to a positive work environment

Job Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team of finance professionals
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with business partners including senior executives.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills (both written and verbal) with proven ability push back and/or facilitate decision making
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting processes and internal control structures
  • Experience evaluating business issues, identifying potential solutions and implementing action to resolve issues
  • Detail oriented while still able to synthesize issues and present concise concepts and solutions
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Power Point, Hyperion, Essbase and Oracle would be an asset.

Education and Accreditation

  • University/College education with a focus on Finance, Accounting, Commerce or Business
  • Business and/or accounting designation preferred or working towards designation (MBA/CFA/CPA)
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in finance
