MFC Training is currently looking for a Chief Dispatcher to join our team in London, Ontario!
The Chief Dispatcher will be responsible for the oversight and management of Flight Dispatchers and Flight Followers. And will ensure regulatory compliance and consistency within the Operations Control Centre.
Our Operations:
- MFC Training is a Transport Canadian Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO), carrying out recurring inspections, line maintenance, and heavy maintenance checks;
- MFC Training currently maintains a fleet of various training aircraft; and
- Offers a great learning environment where you will touch on almost every aspect of aircraft maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee flight and ramp activities, ensuring the appropriate level of safety while maximizing aircraft utilization per the daily aircraft schedule, and ensuring compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulations
- Develop and implement Dispatch/Ramp SOPs, and upkeep of the Dispatch/Ramp training program and properly document completed training
- Attend all operational meetings and actively participate in the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) committee and action team
- Liaise with outside agencies for continuity of operations including airport authority, fueling contractors, and Air Traffic services
- Liaise with internal departments for operational continuity including maintenance, scheduling, etc
- Plan and manage shift scheduling, work conditions, performance management and disciplinary actions as required
- Manage Flight Operations Area /Ramp area and equipment
- Manage and oversee the aviation fuelling system, including inspections and coordinating repairs as needed
- Engage and support the Safety Management System (SMS) program including the report submission, investigation, and implementing corrective actions
- Cleanliness of work and training spaces, aircraft, ramp and removal of any FOD immediately
- Hire, train, and supervise Dispatch and Ramp staff
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in the aviation industry is required
- An ability to interpret aviation weather reports would be preferred
- Previous experience in a supervisory position considered an asset
- Highly motivated and excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite of Products
- Proven leadership skills
- Must possess strong organizational and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while prioritizing and managing tight deadlines
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance
