Job Summary
Reporting to the Provincial Manager of Employee Wellness, the Employee Wellness Coordinator is one of eight provincial positions responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive workplace wellness programming that supports and enhances the psychological and physical health of employees of NLHS. This role works very autonomously and requires a proactive approach to improving employee well-being, fostering a positive workplace culture, and supporting organizational health objectives.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design and implement provincial workplace wellness programs to enhance employees' psychological and physical health, such as psychological health and safety, critical incident stress management and workplace health promotion.
Conduct assessments to identify employee wellness needs and interests, using data to inform program development.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align services, promote workplace wellness initiatives, and integrate them into the organizational culture.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of workplace wellness programs, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
Design and deliver training sessions and seminars on workplace wellness topics, including stress management, critical incident response, psychological self-care, resilience, health promotion, and workplace mental health.
Serve as a resource for employees seeking support and guidance regarding workplace wellness-related issues.
Stay current on workplace wellness trends, research, and best practices to continuously enhance program offerings.
Job Qualifications
Education
A bachelor?s degree in a health-related discipline is required, preferably in Nursing or Allied Health.
A master?s degree in a related field is preferred.
Experience
Minimum of two years of experience in developing and implementing employee wellness programs, preferably in a healthcare organization, is required.
Experience working in a unionized environment is required.
Experience with change management and quality improvement methodologies is required.
Experience in health promotion and/or organizational development is an asset.

Current registration/licensure in the relevant professional association is required.
Travel between sites in the geographic region and throughout the province is required.
