SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Corporate Director of Primary Health Care and the Palliative Approach and Integrated End-of-Life Care, the incumbent will direct and supervise all activities of the various clinical community programs in the primary care sector and the palliative approach and end-of-life care sector of Vitalité Health Network. More specifically, they will be responsible for directing all activities of the various programs and services for disease prevention, early detection, sexual and reproductive health, chronic diseases, vulnerable populations with complex needs, the palliative approach and integrated end-of-life care, the nurse practitioner sector and any other assigned field of activities. They will also be responsible for directing the activities related to the standardization and updating of practices, processes and policies, the continuous improvement of quality and safety, and the development and maintenance of a performance management process and accountability structure for the sector.

As part of their mandate, they will be responsible for the planning, development, implementation and organization of the care and services delivered in various programs in their sector and act as a consultant. They will also be responsible for managing human, financial and material resources and staff training, and they will also work very closely with the medical sector from a medical-clinical-administrative co-leadership perspective. They will be delegated various mandates, depending on operational needs, such as responsibility for development and implementation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline;
  • Master's in the health field considered an asset;
  • Training in health management or organizational leadership considered an asset;
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a health care management position;
  • Eight to ten years' experience in the health care field;
  • Proven knowledge and experience in primary health care;
  • Experience supervising/managing staff and strong coaching skills;
  • Knowledge and experience in program and project development and implementation;
  • Member in good standing of a professional association;
  • Excellent leadership, great sense of initiative, good judgment and recognized transformational leadership ability;
  • Strategic-thinking skills and innovative, collaborative and visionary management style;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities among multiple tasks and to manage numerous projects simultaneously;
  • Ease forging internal and external partnerships thanks to their knowledge of the field and ability to bring people together;
  • Ability to function with ease in a changing environment and strong aptitude for implementing change management strategies;
  • Extensive experience managing human, material and financial resources and information in general;
  • Recognized ability to achieve results, whether directly or through teamwork;
  • Ability to use the computer tools common within the health network;
  • Availability to travel within the Network's territory and across the province due to the position's regional role;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethical principles, the Network's management philosophy, and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality set by Vitalité Health Network.
