The Department of Justice and Public Safety is dedicated to the rule of law, the promotion of the public interest, and the impartial administration of justice and works to improve the safety, security and resiliency of communities and citizens.
The Justice Support Services Branch provides strategic and operational support for the technological and functional processes related to the administration of justice in New Brunswick. Responsibilities include the management of case management systems for the Provincial Court and Court of King's Bench, management of business intelligence, evaluation of legislative and policy changes and the establishment and oversight of service level agreements.
What you will do
As a member of the Justice Support Services team, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and finalization of projects of varying degrees of complexity and strategic importance to the organization and its clients. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Defining project scopes, goals, requirements, and deliverables.
- Acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors.
- Delivering project objectives and overseeing quality control.
- Directing and managing project development.
- Developing full-scale project plans and effectively communicating project expectations.
- Liaising with project stakeholders.
- Drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending budget changes.
- Managing project resources and delegating tasks and responsibilities.
- Setting and managing project expectations.
- Planning, scheduling, and tracking project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.
- Delivering status reports, analyzing results, and troubleshooting problem areas.
- Managing changes in project scope, budget, schedule, identifying potential risks, and devising contingency plans.
- Building, developing and growing business relationships vital to the success of projects.
- Fostering the professional growth of colleagues through mentoring and coaching.
The successful candidate will be taking on a special project aimed at modernizing our service delivery, improving access to justice through digital channels, enhancing operational efficiency by streamlining court processes, and ensuring security and reliability in court proceedings and administration with robust, future-ready digital tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for 2 key initiatives:
- Implementation of a new case management system that will integrate the three levels of courts, allow for streamlined scheduling, reduce duplicate data entry, enable electronic filing and increase data availability for informed decision making.
- In-court upgrades to improve video conferencing, digital evidence presentation and court recordings; which will improve the user experience, reduce logistical delays and minimize administrative processes.

- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30pm

Need to have (their essential skills and qualifications)
- The successful candidate must possess a university degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of six (6) years of experience (PB6) or seven (7) years of experience (PB7) in project management or related work experience
- Certification from a recognized Project Management Association, such as PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) or PRINCE2's Practitioner.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a criminal history clearance and security clearance check.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required, please state your language capability

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The following operational requirements are also required:
- Some weekday, evening and weekend work hours may be required on occasion
- Candidates must possess a valid driver's license
Nice to Have (their asset qualifications)
- Certification or experience in Scrum/Agile framework.
- Experience managing projects across multiple organizations or functional areas.
- Experience in the management of IT initiatives within a high-pressure environment.
- Experience in a government and/or justice setting.
- Certification or experience in Change Management.
- Experience in presenting to and facilitating varying group sizes and senior level management.
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.
Wage
$2,947-3,920 Biweekly (Pay Band 6)
$3,532-4,274 Biweekly (Pay Band 7)
