The Manager, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for leading Bank-wide sourcing and category management activities. The Manager will collaborate with business unit leadership and sourcing leaders to improve upon current processes, centralize and consolidate company-wide supplier selection and drive reductions in the total cost of goods and services procured.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Act as a primary contact for senior stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met through effective and regular communications, providing support for their concerns, and developing the relationship
- Lead sourcing and category strategies to support enterprise objectives and influence key stakeholders while ensuring optimal sourcing and procurement outcomes
- Drive contract negotiations with key suppliers to ensure agreements are commercially sounds, include favourable terms, mitigate risks, maximize value for the Bank and are aligned with the Bank's strategic goals
- Contribute to a disciplined effort to influence spend and drive cost savings across all business segments, supporting consistent procurement processes
- Directly manage and implement best practices in sourcing initiatives, tracking progress for multi-functional stakeholder teams
- Establish and develop on-going strategic relationships with key suppliers driving high-quality and cost-effective supplier relationships
- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge while ensuring compliance, risk management and efficiency in operations
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating high-value contracts with suppliers, ensuring agreements are commercially sound and aligned with strategic goals
- 4-5 years experience in developing and implementing sourcing and category strategies, with a focus on driving cost savings and value creation
- Demonstrated ability to develop global stakeholder relationships, manage and influence stakeholders, ensuring alignment and support for sourcing initiatives
- Superior interpersonal and spoken/written communication skills, including comfort in speaking with senior leaders at the Bank
- Knowledgeable in financial services and regulations (e.g., OSFI, OCC, CFPB, UDAAP) and how they are applied to Third Party relationships
- Ability to comprehend complex technical and financial issues and create effective action plans
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills
- Spanish and French language would be considered an advantage
