Contributes to the overall success of Canadian Banking Finance by supporting the Retail Deposits & Investment business team deliver on their objectives and business strategies. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
The Senior Manager oversees the Retail & ADS Savings and Term Deposit portfolios from a financial perspective and is accountable for supporting the Retail Deposits & Investments business through financial planning, analytics, forecasting, and reporting in an effort to support Executive-level decision making in a fast-paced environment. The incumbent is also responsible for supporting other deposit and investment products (D2D, Mutual Funds) as required.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank Relationships, systems, and knowledge
- Lead the Retail & ADS Savings and Term Deposit business planning process (including annual profit planning, 5-year profit planning, stress testing and forecasting), while supporting all other deposit products as required
- Manage the development, enhancement and production of various reports and dashboards on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including coordinating business performance commentary and variance analyses
- Consult regularly consult with senior business partners, ensuring they have the most recent / accurate information to make strategic business decisions on a daily basis in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Develop, review and analyze business cases that incorporate financial modeling with business-oriented presentation of the problem, impact, alternatives, business justification and other parameters for management decision-making
- Maintain focus on continuous improvement in profitability, competitiveness, and positioning through business analyses
- Develop and maintain a process for planning, approving, tracking, and reporting expenses related to both day-to-day operations and business cases
- Continuously improve operational effectiveness and efficiency, while ensuring the adherence to business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and Guidelines for Business Conduct
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- MBA, CFA, or CPA
- FP&A experience
- Familiarity with deposits and investments
- Familiarity with Funds Transfer Pricing
- Knowledge of the Bank's source and reporting systems (e.g. OBI, Hyperion, SmartView)
