Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Vital Statistics team as a Registration Systems, & Data Clerk working in Fredericton.

As a member of the Vital Statistics team and reporting to the Registrations, Systems & Data Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operational function of capturing, reporting, and verifying vital event data. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Primary keying of registrations, maintaining, verifying, and disseminating birth notices, births, marriages, deaths, and stillbirths (vital events)
  • Reviewing and finalizing outstanding vital events in accordance with legislation, policy, and procedures
  • Auditing, processing, and scanning of vital events to ensure integrity of vital event system
  • Responding to inquiries from the public and our stakeholders regarding the registration process of vital event registrations and the status of certificate applications
  • Performing other tasks as required

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma supplemented by completion of a one (1) year post-secondary program and a minimum of three (3) years related experience including experience in the administration of policies, procedures, and legislation. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite is also required. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate:

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.

Salary: $42,250 to $51,246 annually – Administrative Services Level 3 – Administrative Assistants, Clerical and Regulatory, Office, Data Processing and Duplicating Equipment Operation.
