Machine Operator / Shop Helper (With Forklift Experience)

Location: Scarborough, Ontario (Near Kennedy & Finch)

Shift: Monday to Thursday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, Fridays 7:00 am - 1:00 pm

Pay Rate: $22.00-$25.00/hr

Overview:

Our client in Scarborough is seeking a reliable and adaptable Machine Operator/Shop Helper with experience operating a counterbalance forklift. This role offers a variety of responsibilities in a custom sheet metal manufacturing environment. While forklift operation will be part of the role, the ideal candidate must also be flexible and willing to support other areas of the shop as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Operate various machines and presses within a metal manufacturing setting.
• Operate a counterbalance forklift when required.
• Assist with general shop duties, including paint prep and spraying.
• Organize and manage inventory.
• Regularly engage in heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Valid forklift license with counterbalance experience.
• Ability to lift and handle loads up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to details.
• Comfortable with repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods.
• Flexibility to move between tasks and support multiple areas of the shop.

Work Environment:

You'll be part of a collaborative team in a custom sheet metal facility. The role involves both independent and team-based work, requiring adaptability and a hands-on approach to daily tasks.
