Job Title: Housekeeping and Laundry Aide

Location: Glenburnie

Shift/Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. & 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Laundry: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Wage: $23.00/hr

The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for Residents. The Housekeeping Aide cleans and disinfects Residents' rooms and their shared environment according to all legislative standards.

Laundry Aide:

The Laundry Aide is responsible for providing laundry services to the residents, laundering the Home's linens, and assigned laundry of the Paramedic Services. The Laundry Aide cleans and stores Residents' and Home linens according to all legislative standards and policies and procedures.

• Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite of products (Outlook) and the ability to use other software applications applicable to the position (e.g., work order software and building automation software).
• Demonstrated understanding and commitment to health and safety policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Demonstrated ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
• Periods of time standing and walking.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Bending, lifting, reaching, carrying, gripping, pushing/pulling required.
• Possible exposure to noise.
• Possible exposure to dirt/dust.
• Possible exposure to chemical products used in cleaning.
• Required to work day, evening, and/or night shifts.
• Possible exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, or other undesirable environmental conditions.

Housekeeping Aide:

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in housekeeping/laundry in an industrial or similar setting, an asset.
• Satisfactory Police Record Vulnerable Sector Check.
