Position Description

Reporting to the Manager, Undergraduate & Open Learning, this position is responsible for the development, implementation, review, and support of programs and courses including (but not limited to) Online undergraduate courses, as assigned by manager, in all 4 terms (Fall, Winter, Spring & Summer); Open Learning courses as assigned by manager; and development/revision of online undergraduate courses (as assigned by Manager) with the StFX Online team

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and Support Online Course Delivery: Prepare and update course syllabi and schedules; work with instructors and online support to ensure timely readiness and quality of undergraduate courses each term.
  • Enhance Teaching and Learning Quality: Collaborate with instructors to implement best practices; periodically review courses to maintain academic standards.
  • Curriculum Development and Program Improvement: Assist with development, review, and revision of courses and programs to align with trends, student needs, and university requirements.
  • Liaison and Student Support: Serve as a key contact for instructors and students; explain university policies and respond to inquiries to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Develop and execute marketing strategies and awareness campaigns to promote programs and drive enrolment.

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent education, skills, and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience with progressive responsibilities and accountabilities combined with proven leadership experience and ability. Experience in a post-secondary institution is preferable.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships in a team environment.
  • Superb customer service skills coupled with superior oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent planning, time-management, organizational and administrative skills.
  • Data analysis capabilities and experience with MS Office and, specifically, MS Excel are required.
  • Knowledge of student information systems. Specific experience with BANNER an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability working in a time sensitive and high-volume environment with changing and conflicting priorities and frequent interruptions.
