JOB SUMMARY :

Reporting to the Senior Vice-President of Medical Affairs, the Lead Physician Health Officer will be responsible for improvement of the organizational culture and work environment for physicians, focusing on system-wide wellbeing initiatives rather than individual-level interventions. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing physician wellbeing, identifying sources of physician burnout, improving the work environment within RHA A, and fostering a positive organizational culture. This senior leadership role requires a physician with an active clinical role, who can credibly lead initiatives that identify and address burnout and enhance organizational support structures.

REQUIREMENTS:

Degree from a recognized medical school and residency leading to a licence in medicine.

A recognized medical school is a school that meets the following criterium:

    • Accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) (in the United States);

OR

  • Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick;
  • Active membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association or equivalent liability insurance association;
  • Membership with the New Brunswick Medical Society;
  • Privileges in New Brunswick;
  • Privileges with Vitalit? Health Network;
  • Registration with New Brunswick Medicare;
  • One to three years' experience will be considered an asset;
  • Any other combination of training and experience deemed relevant and equivalent could be considered;
  • Analytical and change management skills
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues, patients, families and visitors with tact and courtesy
  • Initiative and leadership
  • Excellent oral and written command of French and good command of English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to perform assigned work
  • Good work history (performance and attendance)
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network's management philosophy and organizational values
  • Adherence to Vitalit? Health Network's confidentiality rules.

  1. The remuneration is based on a salary model with benefits.
  2. Moving expenses allowance.
  3. Possibility of a recruitment incentive depending on eligibility, as determined by the Department of Health (return of service required).
