In this role you will:

  • Ensure the development, maintenance and review of the Case Management service line in active operations, in collaboration with other service lines within CRC Operations
  • Perform a quality assurance function, under the direction of leadership to ensure compliance to case management methodology as well as identification of opportunities for improvement, evolution and periodic reviews
  • Play a key contributing role in preparing proposals and pitching services to interested parties
  • Prepare and monitor budgets and financial projections; produce financial and narrative reports, and presentations as requested regarding case management (internal and external audiences)
  • Lead the continued development and implementation of case management training focused on methodology and systems to support the methodology
  • Set Case Management team performance and development objectives, establish workplans, monitor performance, resolve conflict and provide coaching and feedback
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, donors, local communities and Indigenous communities to ensure effective coordination, collaboration, and support for program/service activities
  • Act as the lead for Case Management with regards to EMIS, including development of complex files and housing repair and reconstruction programs
  • Participate in and represent the CRC as appropriate, as well as liaise with relevant government authorities, and operating agencies as appropriate and in consultation with the operations and national programs
  • Ensure the integration of CRC's Indigenous Peoples Framework principles within the service line
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, and manage risks within their area of responsibility

What we are looking for:

  • Qualifications include a minimum of 8 years of experience and a 3-year college diploma or university degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require a graduate diploma/degree in a related field and/or a professional degree, certification, or designation to practice in the profession.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite), data analysis tools, etc.
  • Experience working in emergency relief and recovery operations at a leadership level is required.
  • Leadership and management experience, with the ability to provide strategic vision, drive innovation, and inspire and motivate teams to achieve program objectives.
  • Ability to develop and manage program budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure financial accountability.
  • Ability to identify and address complex, abstract problems through strategic thinking and abstract reasoning, developing unique, precedent-setting solutions with long-term implications and organization-wide impact, while applying expert judgment to assess multifaceted risks and escalating issues with significant political, reputational, or financial implications for alignment with organizational strategy.
  • Ability to persuade and negotiate with strategically important contacts or groups, promoting complex and sensitive ideas to obtain commitment or agreements, and facilitating consensus in sensitive or controversial situations with significant organizational impact and a mid- to long-term perspective.
  • Ability to utilize program management and service design concepts, including program design, innovation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Ability to establish, maintain and strengthen strategic partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, donors, Indigenous communities, local communities, and to navigate complex political and cultural contexts.
  • Experience working with and understanding of Indigenous communities, culture and traditions is a strong asset.
  • Fluency in French and English is required.

Working Conditions

  • The majority of the role will be working primarily in an office environment, except while deployed or travelling for the role.
  • In a large-scale emergency, where staff numbers are compromised or additional resources are required provide disaster relief and/or emergency field operational support.
  • All teams contributing to emergency response efforts directly or indirectly.
  • All CRC roles are required to adapt work and priorities to support emergency response efforts, be present in person as required to support service delivery and deploy to emergency responses when appropriate and/or required (personnel availability and request for exceptions will be discussed with line management).
  • For CRC roles that are assigned a function in the Emergency Relief operational structure (in field and virtual), personnel may be required to be part of an on-call roster and be available for scheduled on-call work.
  • As we work with and support people (colleagues, those impacted by disasters, volunteers, donors and external partners) and communities in Canada and around the world, applicants whose first language is not English may be required to perform the responsibilities of the role in English.
