The University of Fredericton is looking for a people-focused, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic HR Coordinator to join our team! Onboarding & Orientation
- Own and improve our onboarding process to ensure a smooth, engaging start for every new hire
- Facilitate new hire orientation sessions
- Act as the go-to contact for new employees during their onboarding journey
- Ensure all onboarding paperwork is completed and tech gear is received on time
Recruitment & Hiring Support
- Coordinate job postings and facilitate screening calls
- Schedule and participate in interviews as a representative of the HR team
- Assist with drafting offer letters and employment contracts
Employee Support, Policy Guidance & Offboarding
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions related to time off, benefits, policies, and general HR processes
- Partner with the Head of HR to support leave of absence, return-to-work, and accommodation processes
- Assist with offboarding activities, including exit interviews, termination logistics, and associated documentation
Culture & Engagement
- Help plan and deliver employee engagement activities and initiatives that boost morale
- Assist with company wide-events
- Gather feedback and support initiatives that strengthen culture and connection
- Organize and deliver internal HR communications as needed (e.g., company holiday closures, work anniversaries, new hire announcements)
Benefits Administration
- Guide new hires through benefits enrollment and support ongoing employee questions
- Enroll eligible employees in the RRSP program and answer RRSP-related questions
File Management & Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee files in accordance with privacy and compliance standards
- Ensure all HR data is properly recorded and organized in internal systems
- Support audits, reporting, and documentation needs by keeping records current and accessible
Payroll & Employment Documentation
- Learn payroll systems to provide occasional backup support
- Assist with payroll-related inquiries
- Prepare applicable employee documentation, including compensation changes and employment confirmation letters
HR Operations and Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve the employee experience
- Support the Head of HR on projects related to organizational growth and development
What You Bring:
- 2+ years in HR, people operations, or employee experience roles
- Strong communication skills, empathy, and relationship-building skills
- A proactive, solutions-oriented approach
- High attention to detail and comfort working with HR systems/tools
- Proven ability to design and deliver programs or initiatives
- Experience with onboarding, benefits, or payroll is a strong asset
- Education in Human Resources or a certificate in Applied Human Resource Management is considered an asset

Hours of Work
This is a full-time, permanent position based on 35 hours per week, with regular business hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
The position is located in Fredericton, NB, with the flexibility to work remotely. The Ideal candidate will reside in Fredericton, New Brunswick as they may need to go to the office from time to time.
