Purpose
- Contributes to the overall success of the execution of multiple technical projects in the Technology, Project Governance, PMO and Reporting office in Canada and LATAM countries.
- Ensures technology projects align with the organization's objectives, accomplishing goals, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in time, quality, cost and scope.
- Ensures all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Accountabilities
- Plan, design, implement and execute all-bank wide projects that are aimed at advancing goals and priorities and ensuring deadlines are met and resources and teams are optimally executing.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring that the organization's strategic priorities are reflected in project execution.
- Execute multiple projects and initiatives at the All-Bank level with technology and business lines. Manage cross-functional teams, design and develop roadmaps, issue identification, analysis to assess impact on financials and presenting compelling recommendations.
- Collaborate with Project Director to translate business strategic objectives into actionable plans for technical teams.
- Provide leadership and direction to Facilitators, Project Managers, ensuring that the technical teams are aligned with project objectives and operate efficiently.
- Execute problem solving, risk leverage and mitigation, with cross-functional teams, business lines and Technology, remove obstacles and escalate when necessary.
- Present projects progress and apply implementation controls that manage trade-offs and keep deliverables and milestones on track and on time, including proactive mitigation of project risks.
- Control overall projects budget, accomplishing funding strategy and project efficiency, including budgeting, financial analysis, performance measurement, vendor and contract management and expense management.
- Implement IB Data Management Strategic Project to Establish an efficient, streamlined process for managing data requests from various Business Lines to Engineering, utilizing the IBT&T Office to deliver a comprehensive, value driven solution to the business.
- Support the implementation of Data Management, Software Currency, Hardware Currency, Modernization and Transformation projects among others, across the region, working closely with project teams to monitor and optimize the performance of data, software currency, hardware currency, modernization, and Transformation pipelines, ensuring that they meet performance, scalability, and reliability standards.
- Synthesize findings, report regular status, and present clear recommendations and implementation plans to ensure impactful project outcomes to Director PMO and stakeholders.
- Establish and monitor key metrics, reviews, and measurements to accomplish project outcomes.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in project management including agile, ensuring that lessons learned from previous projects are applied and optimize future projects.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Skills, Education and Experience
Must Have
- Must be Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
- Must have previous experience working with Joint-venture, or maybe Divestiture or Acquisition.
- 5 years + of Experience in Project management
- 3 years + of relevant experience in banking industry.
- Proven Experience running projects, with large group of cross-functional teams.
- IB (international Banking) Software Currency, Hardware Projects, Transformation, Modernization, Data, Divestitures or Joint ventures Projects leading.
- Support the implementation of Data Management, Software Currency, Hardware Currency, Modernization, Transformation or Divestitures/Joint Ventures projects among others, across the region, working closely with project teams to monitor and optimize the performance of data, software currency, hardware currency, modernization, and Transformation pipelines, ensuring that they meet performance, scalability, and reliability standards.
- Proven ability to make presentations to multiple stakeholders and communication skills to deal with all levels of management and cross-functional teams
- Experience in engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including executives.
- Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic business environment.
- Exceptional analytical and technical problem-solving skills, with ability to manage ambiguity.
Nice to have skills and Experience
- Engineering bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Formal Project Management education is desired
- PMP Certification is an asset
