The Cape Breton Operations & Events Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Sydney hub, creating an organized and vibrant space for startups ,entrepreneurs and partners. This position focuses on managing day-to-day operations, coordinating events, and supporting marketing efforts to enhance IGNITE's mission of fostering innovation and growth in Nova Scotia.


Key Responsibilities


Site Coordination and Front Desk Duties

Welcome and direct visitors with professionalism and a friendly demeanor.
Manage payments for coworking space, events, and services.
Provide tours of Innovation facilities to individuals and groups.
Oversee room bookings, optimizing the use of coworking and shared spaces.
Set up and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment for meetings and events.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including common areas and meeting rooms.
Monitor and restock office supplies to ensure seamless daily operations.

Event Coordination

Support pre-event planning, marketing, registration, and on-site logistics for IGNITE-hosted events.
Host and facilitate groups at the Innovation site, fostering a welcoming and engaging environment.
Conduct post-event surveys, gather feedback, and assist in analyzing results to improve future programming.
Collaborate with community organizations and partners to bring new ideas and events to life.

Marketing Support
Assist in creating and distributing marketing materials to promote Partner programming and events.
Contribute to content creation, including blog posts, capturing photos, newsletters, and event highlights.

General Responsibilities
Foster an inclusive, supportive atmosphere aligned with IGNITE's core values.
Collaborate with the IGNITE team and partner organizations to execute new projects and initiatives effectively.
Support youth programming, startup initiatives, and community events as needed.
Deliver excellent customer service to members, visitors, and partners.

Qualifications and Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for building relationships.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in basic technical skills with a willingness to learn new tools.
Experience in customer service, event coordination, or marketing is an asset.
Ability to work independently while contributing as a collaborative team member.
