Who we are:
We invite you to join the Kings Landing team! Kings Landing's mission is to attract, engage, enrich, and educate the people of New Brunswick and visitors by showcasing the well-researched adaptation of people who lived along the St. John River Valley in the 19th century.

What you will do:
Reporting to the Director of Finance & Corporate Services, you will be responsible for night shift work securing a historic village against fire, theft, and vandalism.

Work involves the following responsibilities:

  • Patrolling the Kings Landing property by vehicle and on foot to protect against fire, theft and vandalism
  • Preparing patrol and incident reports
  • Ensuring facilities are secure at the end of the day by locking gates, vehicles, buildings, and setting alarms
  • Aiding Kings Landing employees and visitors as required
  • Monitoring visitors/clients for adherence to rules/policies
  • Granting access to public
  • Performing general labour or janitorial duties as assigned
  • Performing other related duties as directed/required

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Required Competencies:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid class 5 driver's licence as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.

Nice to have:

  • Valid Emergency First Aid/CPR certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures
  • Knowledge of conflict management practices

Wage:
$25.27 per hour

Work environment:

  • Office location: On-site at Kings Landing
  • Working shifts, evenings, weekends, holidays, overnight shifts and/or additional and variable hours
  • Ability to perform certain physical tasks as per class specifications (e.g. lifting up to 20 kg)
  • Position requires moderate physical effort to sit, walk, and stand for prolonged periods of time
