Title: Program Clerk-CHW (Summer Student)

In this role you will:
- Respond to inquiries regarding the program assessing client eligibility, creating files in database and updating files as required.
- Helps with the packaging of meals, greeting the volunteers and sometimes when needed delivering meals.
- Answers telephone calls and redirects and attends persons inquires.
- Prepares meal bags for next day deliveries
- Takes requests from clients and volunteers
- Provides reports as required
- Performs other duties as needed
What we are looking for:
- Customer service experience in person and on the telephones is an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft programs
- Self-starter with strong organization skills
- Proven ability to be a supportive team member
- A full valid G license is an asset
Working conditions:
- The majority of work is performed in a friendly office environment that is clean and comfortable located in the Burlington Branch of the Canadian Red Cross.
- Hours of service are based on a 30-hour week, Monday to Friday
- As we work with and support people (managers, colleagues, beneficiaries/customers, volunteers, donors and external partners) and communities in Canada and around the world, applicants whose first language is not English may be required to perform the responsibilities of the role in English.
