Industrial Cleaner

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs a wide range of general and detailed plant cleaning work at the Holyrood Thermal Generating Station including performing Type 1 and limited Type II asbestos abatement and removal in accordance with the plant Asbestos Management Plan and Provincial/OHS Regulations.
• Requires to operate mobile equipment such as sky jacks and similar lift/access equipment, within the context of plant cleaning.
• Requires to work at heights and in confined spaces as well as all other duties related to or associated with this classification.
• Responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the company's Safety and Health Program and for environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.

What You'll Need:

• Graduation from high school and have experience with and/or the completion of supplementary course work related to asbestos abatement.
• Training in fall protection, respirator use and fit testing, WHMIS and Confined Space Entry would be considered an asset.
• Experience in the operation of lift equipment and floor scrubbers is also preferred.
• You must be able to use a half face respirator.
• You must have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules.
• You must possess an appropriate valid driver's license.
