The Opportunity
This position is responsible for providing engineering support and technical guidance to regional operations groups. This position is also responsible for developing, maintaining and approving internal construction, design, and material standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to regular inquiries, questions and deviation requests from regional operations groups and third-party vendors/suppliers.
- Develop, maintain and approve internal construction, design, and equipment/material standards and specifications.
- Provide technical support to procurement/materials management group.
- Review, update and approve changes to internal distribution drawings and standards to ensure continued alignment with industry standards and best practices.
- Complete defective material or incident investigations as required.
- Develop new design tools, calculators and other resources to be used by operational employees.
- Complete pilot projects to investigate new technologies, materials or equipment.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with PEGNL.
- Significant exposure to electrical engineering within an electrical utility environment.
- Experience working with engineering standards, drawings and design codes.
- Strong inter-personal skills.
