Reporting to the Provincial Manager of Performance and Accountability, within the Quality and Learning System Portfolio, the Health System Performance Coordinator will support transformative priorities of Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NL Health Services); priorities that are multi-faceted in nature in meeting its mandate.
The successful candidate will play an essential role in NL Health Services’ Learning Health and Social System (LHSS); a system in which science, education, informatics, incentives, and culture are aligned for continuous improvement, innovation, and equity. The System Performance Coordinator is a key role within the Performance and Accountability Team, responsible for overseeing and enhancing system performance, financial accountability, and the management of performance scorecards. The incumbent will support NL Health’s pathway to a LHSS by encouraging the use of best practice in decision-making, embedding knowledge mobilization strategies, and partnering with our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities:
• Performance Management: Develop and execute strategies to improve system performance, financial accountability, and performance scorecard management. Implement and monitor performance management programs using Lean methodologies and other best practices.
• Financial Accountability: Monitor and report on financial data, collaborating with finance teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Performance Scorecards: Manage the development and implementation of performance scorecards. Track and analyze performance metrics, ensuring that scorecards reflect accurate and actionable data for decision-making.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and report data related to system performance, financial metrics, and wait list performance. Prepare detailed reports and provide actionable insights to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Work closely with various programs, departments, and regional and provincial leads to support and implement performance improvement initiatives. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration to address performance issues.
• Process Improvement: Conduct in-depth analysis of existing processes through data collection, stakeholder engagement, and observations. Develop and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency.
• Education and Training: Identify educational needs and coordinate the delivery of training related to system performance. Develop guidelines and policies based on evidence and best practices.

Required Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or a relevant discipline. A Master’s degree and certification in Lean or project coordination are preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of three to five years of experience in a healthcare setting with a focus on performance management. Proven management experience and expertise in data management and analysis are essential.
Required Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with clinical information systems and Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Cognos).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean) and change management.
• Experience with financial reporting and performance scorecard management.
• Excellent communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated experience/understanding of data information systems/data sets from zones.

Other Requirements:
• Ability to travel around the province is required.
• Satisfactory record of work performance and attendance.
• Satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
