The Department of Social Development is seeking individuals to join the Organizational Development branch as Clinical Provincial Learning Specialists in the Central Office.

As a member of the training team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and delivery of competency-based training to frontline staff, supervisors and partners that is based on best practices and principles of adult education. The Clinical Provincial Learning Specialists will support learners' efforts to integrate the material and develop competencies by placing emphasis on content, using frontline experiences to bridge connections between training content and current field practice. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various teams and the Zones to promote transfer of learning activities to integrate learnings. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the current foundational training and work with the team to expand training and development opportunities to other program areas. As training is being integrated into a blended learning format, the successful candidate will work with the team on the transition of the training into a blended platform of self-directed, virtual, and in-person opportunities.

The Clinical Provincial Learning Specialist will also be responsible to provide advice and support to Central Office and Zone staff. They will be expected to maintain a provincial perspective on training issues and awareness of research developments.

The ability to work effectively on an independent basis and within groups is essential. The successful candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills, strong training skills, strong planning skills as well as the capacity to cope with short deadlines and be responsive to changing needs. Other duties may be assigned as required. Travel throughout the province is required. Office location: Sartain MacDonald, Fredericton, or remote work within New Brunswick may be considered.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's Degree in Social Work and three (3) years related work experience of which two (2) years must be in child and youth services or services to seniors or adults with a disability OR a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and five (5) years related experience of which two (2) years must be in child and youth services or services to seniors adults with a disability. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in French and English is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate experience and skills in one or more of the following asset qualifications:

  • Experience in the delivery of training or facilitating groups.
  • Experience in curriculum development.
  • Experience in working with a learning management system and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: The successful candidates will possess the following technical competencies:

  • Ability to Use Office Technology, Software and Applications, including Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Planning and Organizing Skills; and
  • Written Communication.
