JOB DESCRIPTION
This is Facilities technology work related to the operation of microprocessor-controlled systems and equipment within health care facilities to ensure that the patient environment is appropriately controlled and maintained. Work is performed on systems and equipment that prevent health care acquired infections and the control of infectious diseases, as well as systems that support life safety and security among patients, staff, and visitors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installing, programming, testing, calibrating, monitoring, modifying, performing inspection and preventative maintenance (IPM) and emergency repairs on a diverse range of electronic and computer-controlled systems and equipment that promote the efficient, effective, and safe delivery of health care services to ensure optimal care outcomes for patients.
- Read and interpret detailed manuals and schematic circuity to diagnose, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system and equipment issues.
- Work collaboratively to support other tradespersons and outside contractors on the electronic/instrumentation controls components of equipment.
- May be required to provide technical assistance, instructions, and training to other clinical users, and provide and orientation to other employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Electronics Engineering Technologist 01 - Graduate of an accredited two-year Electronics Engineering Technology program OR a two-year Industrial Control Technology program; AND awaiting certification as a Professional Technologist by New Brunswick Society of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (NBSCETT).
- Electronics Engineering Technologist 02 -Certified as a Professional Technologist and in good standing with NBSCETT.
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position.
