Job Description:

This role will support a portfolio of technical assets, oversee design, execution, and release of technical enhancements to production, remediate risk and control findings. This role requires technical experience including web service integration, cyber security principles, software engineering management, requirement gathering and a background in delivering solutions in the financial industry. The ideal candidate will have technical proficiency, security and audit experience, as well as delivery experience managing project schedules.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Technical Requirements gathering and analysis – Work with various stakeholders to elicit and document technical requirements and take them to end 2 end execution
  • Technical Asset Owner: Manage a portfolio of technical assets. Work with vendors, compliance partners, technical teams, and key stakeholders to mitigate risk and remediate findings
  • Delivery: Oversee the project lifecycle for risk remediation initiatives, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of features and enhancements
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA teams to establish robust testing protocols, ensuring system reliability, performance, and compliance with industry standards
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for a set of initiatives, providing updates to stakeholders and managing expectations
  • Hand on testing of key security technologies – Single Sign On (SAML/OIDC), Identity access management (Role attestation, Segregation of duties) etc.

CUSTOMER.

  • Execute introducing engineering tools, methodologies and processes across the enterprise
  • Leverage technology expertise for own area of specialization to deliver and ensure that all areas across the organization that provision, manage and support various technologies have the necessary tools, processes and documentation required to effectively execute on their respective mandates
  • Partner with the Operations team to automatically integrate with appropriate tools and processes as part of automated/self-serve Application, Platform or Infrastructure releases
  • Work with partners across Technology and apply in-depth understanding of relevant business needs to identify and leverage synergies across the various areas
  • Act as the expert or lead innovator and agent of change for the programs and services under management
  • Lead interface with other technology teams to implement best practices, standards and management
  • Identify and effectively manage stakeholder engagement and impacts across the enterprise

SHAREHOLDER

  • Anticipate internal/external business and regulatory issues; recommends process/product/organizational improvements
  • Manage resource requirements and assignment, ensuring project milestones are met and monitoring to keep projects on schedule and within budget
  • Proactively identify emerging technologies and innovative solutions for building more robust platform domains
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of knowledge / expertise in own area and keep current with emerging industry trends, new technologies and best practices in the external market that can contribute to delivering effective customer solutions.
  • Interact with governance and control groups, (e.g. regulatory and operational risk, compliance and audit) to provide subject matter expertise and consult on risk issues / items relating to Engineering technology and tools
  • Support teams to deliver solutions in assigned functional area, meet SLA's, Interface with IT, finance, audit, business unit management and other areas of TD to ensure integrated processes, efficient introduction of new technologies, retirement of obsolete technologies and support for business-led initiatives requiring the capabilities of the Engineering function

BREADTH & DEPTH:

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience working with technical specifications, project management, including experience in system architecture, cyber security area, configuration, and integration.
  • Leadership: Proven experience as an engineering manager or team lead, with strong skills in coaching, performance management, and team development
  • Familiarity with integration methods (APIs, web services) and data migration
  • Project Management: Experience delivering solutions in an agile environment
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proven experience as an engineering manager or team lead, with strong skills in coaching, performance management, and team development

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION

  • Preferred (optional): Any cyber security training or certification
  • Insurance Industry Knowledge (preferred): Understanding of the insurance lifecycle, claims processing, and industry regulations.
  • Cloud & DevOps Experience: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and CI/CD practices.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years relevant experience
