Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Apprentice Carpenter to join our production team specializing in the fabrication of prefabricated wall and floor panels. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in carpentry within a controlled factory environment. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, work well in a team, and take pride in producing quality work.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the fabrication and assembly of wood wall and floor panels according to blueprints and shop drawings
• Measure, cut, and prepare lumber using hand and power tools
• Ensure quality and accuracy of work before panels move to the next production stage
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow health and safety regulations, including proper use of PPE
• Support senior carpenters and team leads in daily production goals
• Operate equipment such as nail guns, saws, and panel machines under supervision
Qualifications:
• Basic knowledge of carpentry tools and techniques is an asset
• Ability to read tape measure accurately
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Ability to work on your feet and lift materials up to 50 lbs
• Punctual, dependable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience in construction or manufacturing is considered an asset
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
