Job Information and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Director, Service Centre and Financial Aid & Awards, the Assistant Registrar Student Accounts will:
- Provide positive customer service experience to students related to student financial accounts, analysing customer inquiries and settlement requests
- Maintain student account statement invoicing
- Timely collection of student account receivables
- Identify and communicate with students at risk of meeting their financial obligation, explaining and providing payment options and support when necessary
- Establish defined payment plan options and selection plan processes
- Proactively monitor student accounts financial activity and undertake action as required to facilitate payment
- Devise and coordinate communication strategies related to payment schedules including assessment of interest charges and late payment fees
- Review status of delinquent accounts and initiate collections process
- Assist in preparing yearly write off analysis for uncollectable student debt
- Oversee the monthly reconciliations in support of the oversight of student receivable financial activity
- Collaborate with other operating units and/or agencies regarding the posting of tuition and ancillary fees
- Supervision of Enrolment Services Representatives and Service Centre Coordinator, requiring scheduling, training and guidance
- Selects and recommends direct reports, confirms selection and transfer of indirect reports
- Advise Director, Service Centre on student debt policy practices and make recommendations to support effective collection efforts.
- Execute the student debt policy, adherence to policies related to late charges, interest fees for past due accounts, registration holds and de-registration
- Assist with the implementation, execution, and maintenance of an integrated Student Accounts platform, delivering intuitive account statements, payment and refund options and automated communication plans
Experience and Education Requirements
To be the successful Assistant Registrar- Student Accounts you will have:
- Completion of an Undergraduate Degree
- 5 years of accounts receivable experience
- Demonstrated experience in customer service excellence
- Demonstrated experience in positively leading and managing a team
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ellucian Banner considered an asset
- Experience within a post-secondary institution considered an asset.
