As part of the Energy Efficiency Services team, the Technical Energy Advisor delivers relevant incentive programs to the Business Sector within the province by providing subject matter expertise and supporting Program Leads in achieving NB Power's Energy Smart goals, contributing to the overall goals of reducing energy use and GHG with New Brunswick.

Key functions include:

  • Conduct technical review(s) of audits/feasibility studies.
  • Meet with potential participants and do walk-throughs of their buildings as well as prepare an American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Level 1 report for them to use as a basis going forward.
  • Engage with potential participants and Energy Management Service Providers (EMSP) auditors, manufacturer representatives and other NB Power staff in the context of the various business efficiency programs and where they could help their goals for reducing emissions and saving money.

Our ideal teammate will have one of the following:

  • University Degree in Engineering or relevant degree
  • Diploma in Engineering Technology in Electrical, Mechanical or Alternative Energy Systems
  • CEM (Certified Energy Manager) would be considered an asset.

Along with the following:

With a University Degree:

  • Three years of experience in commercial/industrial engineering design including recommissioning/retro-commissioning experience and the use of modeling software such as but not limited to Retscreen, HAP and/or E-Quest.

With a College Diploma:

  • Five years of experience in commercial/industrial engineering design including recommissioning/retro-commissioning experience and the use of modeling software such as but not limited to Retscreen, HAP and/or E-Quest.

An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.

An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
