The primary purpose of this position is to work as an active member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of practical nursing care to patients in the hemodialysis unit at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital . The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN ) is responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards and practice in accordance with the LGH Model of Nursing Clinical Practice and reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.Qualifications:
? 2 year diploma Licensed Practical Nurse
? Licensure from the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CLPNNL)
? 1 year current acute care nursing experience preferred;
? Hemodialysis Education Program or equivalent education or willingness to obtain (within time frame designated by the employer);
? Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);
? The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.
Duties: (Includes, but not limited to)
? Works with individuals and colleagues in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating client focused hemodialysis care plans;
? Maintains competency in technological and clinical skills to provide hemodialysis in a satellite unit;
? Maintains equipment and supplies;
? Documents as per professional and organizational standards;
? Other related duties as required.
