The New Brunswick Nurses Union invites applications to fill a permanent, full-time position for a bilingual Manager of Operations. The position is located at NBNU Provincial Office, in Fredericton, NB.

A leadership position, NBNU's Manager of Operations will organize and coordinate office administration and procedures, to ensure organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and safety. The Office Manager is responsible for developing intra-office communication protocols, streamlining administrative procedures, inventory control, office staff supervision, and task delegation.

The successful candidate is an energetic professional who doesn't mind wearing multiple hats. Experienced in handling a wide range of administrative duties and executive support-related tasks and able to work independently with little or no supervision; well organized, flexible, and enjoys the administrative challenges of supporting an office of diverse people.

Duties: Reporting to the Executive Director and working collaboratively with the NBNU President, 1st Vice-President, Executive Director and Manager of Finance to oversee office maintenance and repairs; develop, implement and maintain office policies and procedures; manage relationships, contracts and price negotiations with vendors and service providers; managing office services by ensuring office operations and procedures are organized, correspondences are controlled, filing systems are designed, supply requisitions are reviewed and approved, and that clerical functions are properly assigned and monitored; responsible for recruiting and onboarding new employees; evaluate, manage and discipline administrative staff and maintain a safe, secure, and pleasant work environment

Specific Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, human resources or related field;
  • 2+ years of experience as an office manager or in a comparable administrative leadership role, with a track record of success in maintaining efficient operations and a healthy workplace culture (preferably in a unionized environment)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in both official languages, for fostering collaboration, resolving conflicts, and building team morale
  • Experience managing office budgets, human resources, overseeing expense reporting, and negotiating vendor contracts to ensure cost-effective operations
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with scheduling tools, project management platforms, and CRM systems
  • Ability to motivate and guide team members while fostering a culture of respect, accountability and excellence.
