Their leadership has helped shape one of the most efficient and customer focused service departments in the region, and now we're looking for the right person to help take us even further!
As a Term Assistant Service Manager with Steele Chevrolet, you'll help support the service manager in overseeing daily operations. Ensuring top-tier customer satisfaction and repeat business by guiding a professional service team focused on quality work, production efficiency, and profitability. This role requires a thorough understanding of manufacturer warranties and procedures, as well as experience as a licensed mechanic. We are looking for someone with strong organizational skills, a team-first mindset, and a passion for the automotive industry.
Wage: Commensurate with knowledge, skills, and experience.
What You'll Be Doing:As a Term Assistant Service Manager, you'll be at the heart of our service department's daily success. This isn't just a checklist role—you'll be a hands-on leader, a motivator, and a quality control expert who thrives on keeping things running smoothly while raising the bar.
Here's a snapshot of what your day might look like:
- Champion and uphold dealership policies and procedures with confidence and consistency
- Lead, coach, and energize a talented team of technicians and support staff
- Drive ongoing staff development through training and knowledge-sharing programs
- Ensure every repair meets our high standard of workmanship—done right, the first time
- Guide and support Service Consultants to maintain seamless, customer-focused processes
- Collaborate with the Dispatcher to ensure a balanced and efficient work mix
- Stay on top of warranty claims and ensure accuracy and compliance
- Make sure the drive-in is always ready to deliver a top-tier customer experience
- Track and review technician performance daily, coaching where needed
- Reinforce warranty policies and procedures across the service department
- Pitch in on a variety of related duties to keep things running like a well-oiled machine
We're seeking someone with a strong mix of technical know-how, leadership ability, and people skills—someone who can keep operations running smoothly while inspiring their team to succeed.
You'll need:
- Solid experience and technical understanding of dealership service operations
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- A firm grasp of automotive legislation, trade practices, and industry trends
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team
- Excellent communication—clear, professional, and effective
- A valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract
