We are looking for a Operations Manager, Air Ambulance Program (1 year term position) to help support our growing operation which provides exemplary, highly coordinated primary health care in the right place, from the right provider, at the right time.

Located in Moncton, the incumbent will be responsible to manage staff and systems to meet the performance requirements of the Air Ambulance program. Reporting to the Director, Air Ambulance Operations, you will assist with the Company Corporate Strategic Goals, build staff capabilities, and implement changes to improve service levels. The overall general role of this position is to direct and provide oversight for the workforce in a positive manner.

The position entails, but is not limited to the following;

  • ensuring that customer/patient service is a priority;
  • successfully developing a customer/patient issue resolution process;
  • managing the administrative area and dealing with employee and labour issues;
  • overseeing and participating in the recruitment and selection process for air medical staff ;
  • promoting awareness and compliance of company policies and procedures;
  • working shifts on the aircraft, within scope of practice;
  • responsible for scheduling - working with Telestaff or other scheduling software - in accordance with the CBA's;
  • managing staff performance - completing/delivering annual employee performance appraisals;
  • responsible for procurement and restocking duties;
  • CQI - coordinating chart reviews, participating/organizing grand rounds, monitoring staff compliance with policies & procedures; medical protocols, etc;
  • performing base inspections;
  • statistical analysis and reporting;
  • liaison with staff of contracted air carriers;
  • responsible for scheduling staff for training, etc.;
  • performing equipment checks, and responsible for ensuring that preventative maintenance time-lines are adhered to;
  • responsible for oversight of orientation for new staff;
  • assuming the roles/responsibilities of the Senior Manager, Air Ambulance Operations when necessary;
  • participation in all training sessions for staff of the Air Ambulance Program (within scope of practice).

As the ideal candidate for this role, you:

  • have experience in the Healthcare field; are a registered nurse currently registered with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick; or have completed an approved paramedic training program and are currently registered as a paramedic at a PCP level in the province of New Brunswick - ACP or CCP would be considered an asset;
  • possess a minimum of five years experience working in the healthcare field with a minimum of three years in a progressively responsible leadership role;
  • are able to successfully complete a Flight Nurse/Paramedic Training Program, including flight physiology, flight safety, land and sea survival training;
  • have proven experience in EMS management, information technology, finance, and human resources;
  • have the ability to exercise independent judgment and can problem solve with discretion;
  • are committed to providing stellar levels of customer/patient service and have a passion for business growth;
  • possess and demonstrate leadership abilities with a proven track record for inspiring and motivating others;
  • possess outstanding communication, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills;
  • have working knowledge of standard business computer programs (ie. Microsoft Office Suite);
  • must be comfortable flying on an airplane;

A post-secondary education in business administration and bilingualism would be considered an asset. Travel required throughout the province.
